In the Warp, getting trolled by Tactical_Spam, AKA TZEENTCH INCARNATE

How well do the Orks and CSM Start Collecting formations match up to one another? I'm currently pushing myself to get everything needed for the formations painted and based so I can play some practice rounds, but I'm wondering if the two are equal enough strength-wise.

Tactical_Spam: Ezra is fighting reality right now.

War Kitten: Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...

War Kitten: Ezra can steal reality

Kharne the Befriender:Took him seven years but he got it wrangled down

I don't think it's too bad a match up, I bought the Ork start collecting set and could make the Chaos equivalent with my existing models.
A lack of transport for either side makes it closer than it would be otherwise, a couple of turns of shooting from the chaos should thin the numbers down enough to make the close combat phase that much more even

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples

I think that csm will be winning this one hands down. All orks are ld7 and don't have enough numbers or a warboss to mitigate it. So just kill a few models here and there with shooting and watch them kill themselves even more or simply run away. Furthermore, there's no real way of stopping a helbrute at range and so it will dictate the course of a fight. And there's no sacraficial mek to protect a power claw nob in boy'z squad. And nobz will just get focused down by bolters.

Keep in mind that the Orks do get a Painboy who still hands out FnP I believe?

And both the Boyz & Nobz can all be upgraded with 'Eavy armour so that the bolters don't automatically chew them to pieces.
Combine the Painboyz's FnP on top of 4+/W2, and those Nobz can shrug off basic S4 attacks quite easily.

It's probably still the one match that Chaos overall has the upper hand, (and also the only one where their own formation rule will even be worth a damn!), but if you gear up the Orks, it should at least be more than just a green-coloured turkey shoot.
