Hello all

Got my first tournament coming up in just over a week. Please feel free to tear into my list.

It's 1850, three source list, no duplicate formations allowed.

1st - CotGW Detachment

HQ - WGBL (Krakenbone, SS, TWC, Runic Armour, 2x Fenrisian Wolves) - 191pts

Elites - 2 Servitors - 20pts

FA - Drop Pod - 35pts
TWC, 1x PF, 1 x TH 4x SS - 275pts
TWC 1x PF, 3x SS - 190pts

2nd - Wulfen Murderpack (3 squads)

5x TH + SS - 250pts
1 pack leader w/frag launcher, 2x axes, 2x TH + SS - 228pts
1 pack leader w/frag launcher, 2x axes, 2x TH + SS - 228pts

3rd Oathsworn Knight
Knight Warden w/ Stormspear rockets - 415pts

Total - 1832pts

Pretty unsubtle list I trust you'll agree! The storm shield Wulfen will go in the pod and hope that they soak a ton of fire. Mean while I'll also be hoping for double movement (or +3") and first turn charges for the TWC. I think when it works, it'll work well with multi-charges from the TWC hopefully keeping them in combat to avoid getting shot up in the following turn. When it doesn't work, I'll have to hope my 3++ rolling game is strong unsure.png

I'll also probably roll on the strategic traits table and hope for the infiltrators trait, just to give me that extra chance of starting further up the table.

Any thoughts? I could potentially drop the knight and bring a Stormwolf or more wolves and some Rune Priests on bikes for buffs, but I can never ever seem to manage to roll up endurance.

Going to give it what will probably be its final test game tonight against Eldar - but it's always a struggle against them so I think that could be skewing my view of how good they actually could perform against opponents that aren't Eldar.

Hmmm...

1x WGBL
3x 5 Wulfen
2x 3/4 TWC
1x Knight Warden

Forcing opponents to shoot up TWC and SS Wulfen, then get in contact with the other two. All of which when in CC will absolutely win.

Simple as simple gets.

4 units to target down, eldar may have an absurd amount of saves for you to throw.
But if you can keep your units alive til they reach CC - you should be golden.
Both TWC and Wulfen are well equipped to getting across moderate distance with ease

The battle against Eldar went pretty well.

He was able to get 16 warp charge dice straight off the bat - to which I had no defence, but other than that it went ok. Got the first turn charge thanks to the Wulfen table, which was great - by turn 2 and 3 there was barely anything of each force left on the table haha. Those pesky Eldar jetbikes are almost impossible to catch. Ended up tying on primary objectives, he won on secondary and tertiary, but still the best I've performed against Eldar.

I think'll I'll probably swap the Knight out for the battle cannon version - but other than that I think it's a decent list! It would definitely be nice to squeeze some rune priests in there for buffs to the TWC, but there's nothing I want to drop so I'll just have to see how it goes!
