Hi folks,

I love inquisition back and want to play them. I like psychic and want to create hight psychic army.
Few questions:

1. Which codex should i get? Grey knights or Inquisition ipad?

2. Is it possible to play Inquisition as primary army?

3. If (2) yes which is they best ally for this army? If no, what should be primary army? I want to create hight psychic army

Inquisition with Imperial Guard and Deathwatch Marines then go kick some xeno butt.

Let Imperial Guard be the primary and use the CAD to get obsec. Thatell be there job. Don't go too overboard but make sure you can sit on bunch of objective. Give them a Psyker since you want them.

Inquisitor and retinue set up for long range. 2 Jokaero and 1 Psyker are a must and no more of each. Inquisitor should also be a Psyker and have the beamer gun that's more powerful the longer the range.

Deathwatch marines to fill in gaps and give some assault oh and a Psyker too I think.

I dont think there is a height based psychic army..?

anyway 1. if you like inquisition then inquisition.
2) yes not very well but yes
3) vanilla marines, they have the best librarian formations. (i forget if GK got anything new for formations)

So you would suggest to make IG primary?
I was thinking about 2 Jokaero, 1 Psyker, 3 acolytes with plasma, 5 acolytes + 1 inquisitor with bolters in chimera.

Another option i was thinking about is 3 acolytes with plasma, 1 Psyker and 6 death cult assasins + 1 inquisitor in chimera as melee group. acolytes with shoot while in chimera and then disembark.

For GK the whole units and armies basically have psychic powers. but the reality is that they all for the most part have stock powers and usually only 1 of them.

asides from the librarian they are limited to sanctity powers.

Inquisitors can be fairly customized and can be added into a unit.

I think a good portion of them are CC based.
If anything use the INQ acolytes in cheaper vehicles and sit on objectives and use your inquisitor in an assault unit of some sort.
IIRC a inquisitor in terminator armor with a pyscannon is often very nice in a unit of terminators which also have psycannons.

I had some fun making IG primary detachment with a inquisitorial warband in a landraider crusader with an inquisitor.

Is it viable? heck no. Is it fun? hell yes, rerolling 20 AP3 at I6 to hit and to wound rolls just amkes my marine opponents take of their models without even letting me finish my rolling.

And crusaders can take a few powerfists to the face and be K.

Inquisition can ally well with anything IoM and be alright, yes they can be the primary detachment, it just depends on what you want. You can have cheap heavy weapon squads in chimeras, large units of tarpits or just objective holders, dedicated cc squads, psyker support etc.

When it comes to inquisition there are 2 best ways to figure out allies, either choose an army you like and see what it lacks then get it from inquisition, or choose a style of inquisition you like, then pick an ally that gives you what you're missing.

1. Inquisition.
2. Yes. You will really need to have allied detachements though. In general it is better to use Inquisition as allied detachement rather than other way around.
3. Anything IoM is good as allies for Inquisition. Space Marines work especially well. GK are a good choice if you want lots of psychic stuff.

Yes and no. You can have 2 inquisition detachments allied to your main detachment, but you cant use the allied detachment in the BRB, you have to use the inquisitorial detachment in the inquisition codex because inquisition doesn't have troops, only elites.

Do remember a chimera is not an assault vehicle so, you cannot charge the same turn you disembark.
