So, I was thinking about doing a display case for my mini's and I had the idea of an Adeptus Mechanicus building. Unfortunately I do not have an idea of what the mechanicus would have for a specific architecture. Unless it's just a gothic cathedral with hoses and cables running out of it, which would just be my original idea of doing a Gothic Cathedral.

Anyway, any examples of Mechanicus architecture?

A few searches on a couple of sites didn't yield anything helpful, but my best guess is something along the lines of a grand, ornate cathedral meets monumental industrial complex with symbolism associated with the Adeptus Mechanicus all over it.

If you own the Space Marine game, some of the background shots during gameplay in particular could help (it helped me when I was trying to write fan-fiction set on a forge world).

Picture this. Enormous, gothic arches filled with pipes and emblems of the Machine-God, tubes to emit steam, and bundles of wire in brass holders. Emormous cogs and pistons encrust the architecture, and massive, ornate bells hang inside towers to summon workers to work. Flickering electric lights portrude from walls, illuminating a metal street full of grates which reveal yet more pipes and emit steam from subterranean magrails and transit trains. Shrines and temples fill the spaces between enormous manufactorums.
Basically, mix cyberpunk, steampunk, catholicism, add more grimdark, sprinkle on some metal shavings, and serve hot.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Serve HOT with lava surrounding. The HH Novel Mechanicum gives some good insight as to how they operate.
