I’ve got a 2000pt tournie coming up at my
FLGS. I’m wanting to try and do fairly well, but I also have a stubborn and irrational dislike for anything Wraith; I think that the option of Scatterbikes is just too good so I’m sticking to the old 1-in-3 system (though I’m not against rearranging them all into the same unit, so kinda 1-in-3 across the army rather than units) and I have no access to
DoM so that rules out some Forgeworld niceness.
Missions will all be Maelstrom but I don’t know more than that yet, and the new
FAQs will be being used, so my Hawks aren’t looking as shiny as they used to
My starting idea was to take Wind Riders for fire support and ObSec, Farseers for buffing and Doom/Psychic Shriek, Crimson Death for Anti-Air and –Armour support and an Aspect Host and War Walkers for firepower. I have this as a core that I’m bulding around and would love to hear thoughts on:
1 – is this viable? (I know it won’t be fully competitive with the self-imposed restrictions)
2 – what should I add to round it out to 2000?

(We aren't using the Death from the Skies rukes. Are the Bright Lances always better? The extra shots from Star Cannons combined with Marksman’s Eye sounds appealing.)

4 Dark Reapers inc Exarch – Starshot Missiles
Total so far – 1806pts
Thinking of adding another Warlock into a Wind Rider squad and a EJB for the other farseer to hide in there, add another ScatterBike and split them into two threes and then 2 Vypers (with double ShuriCannons) or Shining Spears (with Exarch and Star Lance) for some counter charge threat. That would total 1998/1993.
