I'm painting up some of the cool new AoS Khorne stuff, and I'm looking at my old still cool Khorne Chaos stuff, and I'm wondering, thematically and on the tabletop-wise, what is the real difference between the Bloodbound faction and just a Khorne Chaos Warrior warband?

Also, do people get torqued off about mixing and matching factions? I was envisioning just plopping a bunch of Khorne units (demons and mortal because why not) on the table because they just look cool. Is that a problem?

Finally, stat-wise, it looks like a Blood Warrior is about the same as a Chaos Warrior, just with some different weapon options. (And for some weird reason Blood Warriors can be in a unit of 5 and Chaos Warriors have to be 10). It also looks like I can just say Chaos Warriors have a mark of Khorne. Reading through some of the other threads, it looks like the Bloodbound characters buff Khorne stuff, but I mean, could I just run "Khorne Chaos Warriors" with a Bloodbound character? Is that even a good strategy, or are the Blood Warriors actually better than Chaos Warriors of Khorne in some way I'm not seeing?

The Bloodbound faction very much is Khorne WoC, simply expanded out into it's own army so to speak. Khorne-marked Slaves to Darkness units fully fit within Khorne Bloodbound both thematically and on the tabletop (they possess the "Khorne" keyword and so will benefit from any associated buffs). Blood Warriors are pretty much the same power level as MoK Chaos Warriors in a Khorne army, but their slight difference in stats/abilities does make different loadouts better in some situations than others. It depends on what you use them for in your army, but probably more than that it depends on simply which you want to run.

Also, some comps may under/over value one option, so worth taking a look at that.

Just to address this question. I have not run into anyone that has ever been upset by the mixing and matching of factions. In fact, as long as they are in the same alliance, it is encouraged in the GW books. I personally love seeing different factions together and I try to find good synergies cross-faction.

Now I'm just trying to decide how big my horde of Chaos Warriors/Blood Warriors will be!

The only real difference I see between WoC with MoK vs. Bloodbound Warriors is the save against mortal wounds that WoC get with a Runeshield. I don't believe Bloodbound Warriors can get any save against mortal wounds? Other than that, unless I'm mistaken, their stats are identical.
