Okay, odd question here but how do tanks move now? I have only been playing Heavy tanks recently but I have been told that all tanks now move 6" in the movement phase and non heavy tanks can elect to move another 6" in the shooting phase. Oh, but fast vehicles still move 12".
I am confused

Vehicles in general have two possible speeds - Combat Speed, and Cruising Speed.

Heavy Vehicles can only move at Combat Speed (and cannot Flat Out - i.e. moving in the shooting phase), Walkers move as Infantry, all other vehicles (Fast or not) have the option of Cruising Speed, and the option of moving Flat Out.

Fast doesn't affect the distance the vehicle moves in the movement phase, it only affects the number of guns fireable at full ballistic, and how far the vehicle can Flat Out.

More information can be found in the Vehicles section of the rulebook, specifically pages 73 (Combat / Cruising Speed), page 75 (moving Flat Out) and page 88 (Heavy and Fast Vehicles).
