Hello everyone .
What would be a good army to build up with the idea of using titans and imperial knights in said army.
Thanks!

Imho, if you want a relatively static gunline go with IG and get big blobs of conscripts to use as bubblewrap for your knights / titans. Probably a pretty boring set up though.
|
Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you. |

If you're just starting 40k, getting a Titan is a pretty big leap! You should be aware that not everyone enjoys playing against titans (Warhounds and larger), and many if not most tournaments do not allow them.
That said, Imperial Knigthts are seen at most tournaments and are very popular, they come in many variants and even Chaos forces can take a couple (Renegade Knights and Chaos Knights ( FW)).
A primary Knight army can work well, and you can even make battle forged armies without anything but knights in them. Magnetizing your Knights is recommended, so you don't have to buy a bunch of them for all possible various layouts and combinations.
An Imperial Knight can work well alongside most Imperial forces, and as there are many different Knights with different jobs, you can find one that compliments nearly any army. Lack shooting? Add a Knight Crusader. Lack that Close Combat punch? A Gallant can be your guy.
So in summary, I suggest starting with Knights over Titans, and any Imperial army goes well with Knights, and as you already have the Dark Vengeance kit, a Dark Angel Ravenwing force can be a good ally with Knights. All comes down to what you like the look of

One reaver titan or two warhound titans pretty much is an entire army.
You don't need much else nor have the points left to fit in much else.

While titans are the very epitome of resin sex appeal I would not recommend it until you've survived at least one edition change and are sure you want to invest that much in a hobby which is effectively a moving target.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement. |

I'd say a gladius strike force, which is a formation for space marines in their most recent codex. Everything there gets Objective Secured, one of main problems of Knights/Titans. Then you can rain fire upon the miscreants, xenos, mutants, witches, heretics and warspawn witht he big boys while the small ones capture stuff and make points

If it were like a couple of knights + a crusader, probably admech i reckon. Because cheapish extra firepower, or guard to be a pain in the butt due to target saturation

Skitarii both because of fluff and their ingame advantages.
They are extremely fluffy, have a decent point cost, shoot hard and most importantly are faster then regular infantry. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also all things significantly bigger then knights are expensive for the amount of games you will play with them.
Most players don't like to play against them. So you will probably only use them a few times a year + the incidental appoc games.

Skitarii can naturally compliment their weaknesses.

Fluff-wise, Skitarii, who are the foot sloggers of the titan legions anyway.
For the sake of being a nuisance - Taghmata, and just overdose on Battlesmiths.
(Watch out with investing in a 30k army (that can actually be used in 40k fine-like), as you'll be obliged to ask for your opponents consent to use it, and in addition, they're not legal for 40k tournaments)
Likewise, the Tech Priest Dominus of the CultMech has a repairing ability, and can take the incredible Uncreator Gauntlet relic, allowing him to potentially restore 7 hull points in 1 turn.
I'll also point out, though, that the Taghmata red book has rules for Mechanicum-Indentured Knights, and the 3 usual Titans, using their 40k balanced rules. What's not to love about giving an Errant Occular Augmetics?
