Having that cool "Stormbringer Squadron" brings Scouts in a Speeder Storm, and an additional Speeder.
The Scouts get ObSec, the Storm gets +1 Jinks when within 12" of the Speeder, and the Scouts may move 12" in the Storm then disembark 6", still pulling off that 2d6" assault from there, turn 1.

So - adding some beefy mounted IC's to the Scouts after they disembark, to then tag along in the Charge they pull off...
Is this dumb, or nice, in your experience?

Thank you

As per the Draft FAQ, ICs don't gain the benefits of formation bonus that aren't apart of so attaching an IC to the scout squad would disallow them from disembarking if the speeder went more then 6"

The speeder storm must only carry 5 models, all of them being Scouts.

After they disembarked tho, and are now on the ground with the lead models being 18" up field, the IC's can join the unit if there's a single Scout model that holds back to 14" downfield.

The formation benefit gets them out, then when on their feet no longer benefit from any formation rules except ObSec

GW Draft FAQ also says passengers of jinking transports also shoot Snap Shots.

That said, I think Land Speeder Storms are underrated and worth a look.

I have a friend who goes Iron Hands and Shields, with that cool Tech Marine formation that buffs his repairs and FnP, giving power of the machine spirit to his vehicles and ignore stun/shaken... forget the name

He uses triple vindi squadrons to great effect, and his main front line is Scouts in Storms.

His fav thing about them, are the grenades. Blind is difficult to ignore, messes with my stuff for sure. Surprising how often it goes off.

He denies my pods any true closeness, which is how I like my SW - inches away, Now!
I gotta use the Legacy of Glory: Isstvan V, to ignore that Speeder's ability to double my number of scatter dice rolled...

Key factors in this Tactic I've posted about:
12" move in speeder (awesome. Also: Skimmer)
6" disembark (yeah formation!)
Assault Vehicle (open topped)
Then splash in some White Scars touch to the Scouts, and it seems to be a nice (unignorably) ObSec 5wound shield, if even one lives, I disengage their turn if they've not already been; I'd send my main set teeth via SW IC's to chew on what's the toughest thing on the list, then drop distracting (unignorable) pods in their faces.
Turn 2, disengaged (hopefully) through the use of the Raw White Scars skill H&R, combine what's left of the IC's to the Wulfen squad, do it again.

It wouldn't be the same without the Storm.
