So, as i stated before, i recently got back in wanting to playing 40K.
I bought the imperial knights codex, and wanted to combine this
with some figurines i still had from back in the day.

This is what i have until now, the goal here for me is to make a 1000pts guard list.

All my figures are catachan jungle fighter models, because this is what i bought and liked back when.

HQ.

1 Company command squad
-1 bolter
-1 standard bearer

Troops.

10 Veterans
-2 plasma guns
-1 Lascannon
-1 Chimera w/ heavy flamer ( Fluff reasons, catachan )

10 Veterans
-3 flamers

10 Veterans

Rest.

Now i still have the following: 1 Sentinel, 2 heavy weapons teams ( 2 heavy bolter )



I read the heavy bolters are not really what people do anymore, but this is what i have
glued up back in the day.

My question now is, what would be the next step, for example i would really like to play an
imperial knight, but don't know if this is worth the money investment with the stuff i have currently,
it would also mean that this stuff i have above would be around 480-500 pts.

1 thing i am considering is to just get an stock chimera for one of my vets-squad and include an Paladin or
Crusader IK, this to cover the bases i am now missing ( Hard hitting tankbustas )

Rearm your Vets to have1 meltas per unit ..use the one Chimera you have for your command squad and equip the vets with base level taurox.
I am guessing your catachans have shotguns (as per the old fluff) which is appropriate..
and one knight warden or errant and at higher points a knight crusader..so magnatize yer knight ..(thermal cannon is okay but the avenger gatling is just devastating)

Hrmmn back to the Troops might want to consider taking them as an emporers blade assault company..(means adding a hellhound to the mix ) ...I think you may have the points if you do not go overboard on upgrades to your vets..

Knight Warden [Avenger Gatling/Heavy flamer, Heavy Stubber, Reaper Chainsword]

I'm not a big proponent of saying buy more stuff, but closest old days pricing is the new starter boxes. Knight burns a lot of points and is a tough addition to any army.

Use the Rambos as additional vets if you want. Taurox kit is not bad and gets a lot of extras.
