Are they worth it? 20 rapid fire poison shots is dangerous to anything, (assuming you've got a 20 man squad) but is it worth it? Kabalites are guard level of squishy so they'd get mowed down pretty quick without cover. I'd like to try it, but would like dakkas thoughts.

So I've only tried the full 20 man squad a couple times, so I don't have a lot of experience with it. I used it as a backfield objective holder with the added bonus of being a good deterrent for the enemy to stay away until they've cleared it out. Unfortunately it's not very difficult to do that. It worked mediocre at best. If you're looking to spam splinter weapons, Venoms do it better in just about every way, and I've since dropped the idea for Reaver spam and Venoms.

Monkey around with it and see if you can have better luck than I had.

Can't remember what the transport capacity of a Tantalus is, but that seems like it'll save the endangered 20-elf Kabalite squad.

My friend went ALL OUT on Kabalites and did beat my eldar once. I would say that luck was a fair part of his success, but nonetheless...it happened.

The way he set his up was to kind of use units to slow people down and force them to sit in front of his guns for an extra round. He had Ravagers backing them up and a couple Lances in the units. I forget if it was just the Ravagers themselves or a raider or two he had, but he used them to zip up and just sit in front of you to force yu around it and hat extra round of shooting was fairly devastating.

so with some sacrifice troops (bikers work well) that can interpose for a round, it actually can be doable. Would I hinge my hopes on winning the LVO on it? Newp. But for casual games I mean... I've certainly seen a lot worse.

Hold out bait to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and then crush him.

Best deployment for a 20 model Kabalite unit: within a Combined Arms Detachment. prolly with an HQ yielding morale control and Webway Portal. Maybe a shadow field.

But two 10 model units would probably be better.
