Oh wait, did I say "defends"? I mean to say "murders". There was an argument, and she exercised her second amendment rights to shoot both of her daughters before being shot by the police. But before murdering her family she had this to say on the subject:

It would be horribly tragic if my ability to protect myself or my family were to be taken away, but that’s exactly what Democrats are determined to do by banning semi-automatic handguns.

It's just unfortunate that her method of protecting her family with her gun turned out to be "kill them myself before someone else can" but hey, it would have been so tragic if she had lost the right to own that gun.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Hillary Clinton's campaign has publicly stated that she wants to ban semi automatic handguns? When?

The mother in your linked article could have done the same thing with a revolver, how would that have made it better?

Miller vs DC made it pretty clear that the government doesn't have the constitutional authority to ban handguns so that policy platform is a waste of everyone's time.

You're missing the point here. Whether or not a ban on handguns is possible (or good policy) this woman publicly declared how "tragic" it would be if the government took away her ability to defend her family with her gun and then murdered her family with that same gun.

For what, making a thread on a random shooting just like the other ongoing thread on a random shooting? The only difference between the two is which side of the political debate each OP favors, and I think you should be rather concerned about the prospect of the mods issuing bans for being on the "wrong" side of a political debate.

And a thread starting with "look at this wonderful use of a gun" by a pro-gun person isn't?

Your posts have to be in the same mind set as the mods to avoid problems, they stated multi times that you ar privilaged to post here. If they find so,ething against them or offensive to their point of view it is removed or banned.

Pick your audiance before you pick your speech.

So your point is irony?

With Nostromodamus. I'm all for bun controls, but there's nothing good that will will come from this topic, started this way. Its worse than the typical dakkadakka OT gun thread, which is a pretty blow bar to begin with.

Seeing as that thread has people sympathising with a creep hiding in a kid's closet and calling the mother a murderer for protecting herself and her kids, yeah, that thread is surreal.

Yep, and yet another example of a bad use of a gun to counter the ongoing discussion of a "good" use of a gun.

Are we approaching the point where we just have a hiatus on gun threads? It is one of the topics that seems to bring out the worst in people, and constructive discussion in the threads is a rarity at best.
