Hey all,

I've recently noticed that two of the other guys in my regular gaming circle tend to pick a list and pretty much stick with it, making minor refinements from week to week, where as I tend to be a lot more experimental, rarely taking the same list two weeks in a row, either swapping ship(s) from a basic concept or fielding something completely different.

Obviously their approach has certain advantages, in that they can get to know the capabilities, strength and weaknesses and a better sense of how to run their list (and I did much the same before regionals ), but I really enjoy the experimentation (as you may have guessed from my frequent list posts ).

So I'm curious, how do you folks tend to approach the game? Do you find something that works and run with it or are you more prone to playing around with new ideas?

A mix. I'll work a particular list until I think I've gotten a good run out of it, then move on to trying something else entirely. I try not to run the same thing too much; there's a lot of stuff available in this game and I haven't even gotten to run all the ships - or even try out all the upgrades yet.

It never ends well

I own so many ships that I never use the same list more than a few times. It works to my advantage as my opponents I play the most are always trying to tailor lists against me. They usually guess wrong and it goes to hell from there.

Victory is not the most important outcome. Enjoyment and excitement is the best outcome, victory is sweeter when it was fun.
