So i can't help but think that you guys are a little strange with some of the news i hear. A bridge closing down separating the one major road in Canada (there really is only one major road in Canada). The prime minister being like Derek Zoolander and his elbow-gate. Hitchbot the hitch-hiker robot who was murdered by an angry sports fan in the usa. The funny and odd politician that died fairly recently.

It just feels like you're a small liberal town or small college town with the news i often hear. It's not bad it's just kind of funny sometimes.

Apparently this is the newest thing about Canada a friend sent me. Nothing huge just kind of like small town news. I think i'll add the big events later if somebody else won't do the honors.

If anybody wishes to join the thread that's fine. I think canadian news is usually more light-hearted and humorous.

Keep in mind that the majority of what anyone hears about another country in thier media will be what
a) amuses the news director (Capabaryas escape- who would have thought 2 giant rodents would be that hard to recover- the leader of a country accidentally elbowing another politician and that politician going down like a soccer star)
b) something massive enough to shock the jaded news director. (evacuated a city of 70000 in less than 12 hours with only 2 casualties- both the result of an accident)
c) or meets their own political agenda (zoolander- really?/most of the stories we get about the US are mass shootings and now Donald Trump)

Oh i know about Trump and our upcoming election saddens me. Maybe it'll be a sign that the political parties will receive some big changes though after this awful showing. I sure hope so.

The U.S. doesn't get shot up that much. I've probably only heard a few guns my whole life and even less outside a shooting range.

That said i get your point and i'm not denying it. I just find canadian news funny and not so serious usually. Never said it was a bad thing.

Nothing crazy happens up here all that offten, so not much to report on thats life changing destryoing ect.

When I watch the american news, they literally pick the stupidest stories I ever heard in my life to show you guys. Like the one from several years back where the shark guy said that great white travels so many kiloms a day. Then the reporter from the states said what is that in english.......... Then they put captions on from the canadian..... Ot was just brutal to watch.

Hell I never heard about elbowgate until I seen it on a usa channel complaining about it.

Yeah no one ever talked about elbowgate here, that would imply we care about the dumb nonsense our politicians do.
I personally think we need a Trump-figure to run for office, get people talking about Canada.
