I just had an idea and wanted to run it by you all, in the Sternhammer formation all bolt weapons get to re roll failed to hit rolls, would it be worth giving my assault marines in the army dual bolt pistols?

Can they take Dual Bolt Pistols? I thought they were hard locked to a CCW and a single bolt pistol.

You only get the options available in the codex.

While there are a few ways to get paired pistols, I’d have to dig for a way to get two bolt pistols. Not a common option, and none spring to mind.

Yeah, you're right, for some reason I thought I could take two bolt pistols on assault, or least their Sgt, I have no idea why I thought that.

If you can, take it, cuz in any situation two pistols (of any kind) would be better than a generic CCW.

However on anything worth having that you might want an actual power weapon of some sort or a relic weapon.

For modeling purposes I would say go for it. But put a CCW some where on the model, be it on the hip or the back. Just in case you get some nay-sayers about wsyiwyg.

No, dual pistols are illegal. In 5th they were fine as you could only fire one anyway but the introductioj of the Gunslingers rule means its not a valid option any longer.
