I had the small square glass glue bottle with the green nob/handle. Taminya I think it was called. I know it says it "could cause cancer if breathed in" and of course something about "state of California". I wiped what I could, washed the floor but I cleared out my basement and told my kid she can't go down until tomorrow. I wanted to clear it out. I only have a small window in the basement. I am thinking now till tomorrow it should be aired out. I thought maybe I should just ask to see if I am being a bit over cautious and it will be safe to go down and finish painting and my child can go down as well or better to wait.

Being over cautious or not cautious enough and need to wait even longer? It was about almost full when it broke.

Its California, even the air causes cancer here.

it should dry fairly quickly, just gotta ventilate it good.

it might leave a smell though.

If it's plastic glue, it should evaporate fairly quickly - just make sure it airs out properly, overnight should be fine.

Superglue will just set hard.

It is fine. IIRC the risks with glue are all in the "if you work in a glue factory" category, the risk from occasional exposure in normal use is tiny. Clean up the spill, let it air out a bit, and don't worry about it too much.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

If you're still concerned, contact the company. They'd be able to say for certain.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the particulate.

Thank you all for your comments. I erred on the side of caution. Time for bed soon, so will go back tomorrow and do some more modelling/painting.

If it's a plastic liquid cement, you're likely dealing with either Acetone or MEK based glue. Both can be nasty, but MEK is alot moreso. Luckily, MEK evaporates really quickly.

I'm pretty sure that you're more than good to go today. I routinely accidentally spill MEK-based Plastruct cement (darn tall, skinny bottle...) at the kitchen table (I generally just wipe my workspace down and keep working.

Back in my day, miniatures were made of lead and glues were full of dodgy solvents. It bred a hardy generation of gamers.

It's probably already too late if you inhaled some. I give you 48-72 hours to live.

I did this before. I use the same stuff. Just ventilate the room and it should be good in a few hours, stuff evaporates quiclky.

I've broken the same type, also in my cellar which has no windows only an extractor fan.

Leave the window open overnight and the smell should be gone.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
