The Kharybdis is BS4 in its profile. Daemonic Possession is already built into the profile (not an upgrade)

Does it fire its weapons at BS4 or BS3?

Assuming the Daemonic Possession rule is exactly the same as the 6th Ed. CSM codex, then it is BS3, as per the first sentence of the rule:

Why do they bother putting in the BS4 in the profile then if its not an optional upgrade?

Because it's forgeworld. They forget sooooo many rules. They're worse than GW when it comes to rules writing. They write mostly more intersting/fluffy and balanced rules, but they can't seem to get them right at all.

FW also has some models that have BS3 or BS2 that can purchase daemonic possession. Funny how things work!

Shoot them an email on it if you are really unsure. They will give an answer, and say they are working on an FAQ, but that is a lie. There is no FAQ.

Because you can't really say that you're "reducing" the Ballistic Skill to 3 if it is already 3. You certainly can't talk about reducing the BS to 3 if it's already 2.

You're right about the BS2, you definitely can't reduce 2 to 3. As far as BS3 goes, look at Heldrakes, Forgefiends, Maulerfiends, and Defilers. They all have BS3 on profile- yes, I imagine it is for consistency with the Daemonic Possession rule, but the rule/wargear itself doesn't tell you it's included in the profile unlike some others in the codex (VotLW and the Marks come to mind).

BS2 shouldn't be an issue as far as figuring things out goes. As you said, you cannot reduce BS2 to BS3, and we all know you can't because that isn't how numbers work. However, if you can't reduce it, it'd have to remain at BS2. Admittedly, that part of the rule breaks in a strict RAW sense because you haven't decreased it.

I'm fairly sure its BS4, what instance of a model doesn't already have it's BS lowered by Daemonic Possession in the statline?
Heldrakes and Forgefiends are already reduced, if you have to purchase it as an upgrade, I am sure that is the point where you would have to reduce it.
