sup everyone.
with the new points system for AoS I have taken the dust off of my highelves, which are now knowned as highborn.
Here is what I'm thinking of running for the first 1000 pts tournament coming up at my local game store.
Am I going to get tabled turn 2 or does this have some potential?
Leader-behemoth, General: DragonLord with the -1 rend artifact on his dragonblade and the master of defense trait that gives him a 6++ ward save basically.
the idea is that this unit will be getting buffed with mystic shield for a 3+ rerollable. This should make him tanky enough vs normal attacks but I expect will crumble to mortal wounds (only have the 6+ for this).
Leader-behemoth: Drakeseer. This guy is there to cast mystic shield on the general and dish out some dammag. the dragon brings alot of wounds to my caster so i like this portion of the unit even though its kinda expensive.
this unit also has the ability to cast flames of the pheonix if Im in a desperate situation and need to dish many mortal wounds to a unit with a lucky streak.
Leader: Highborn prince on Ithilmar steed: This guy uses the same tactic as the general to have a rerollable 4+ save with the enchanted shield. I math-hammered that this guy is pretty resilient for the amount of points he costs and I plan on using the
genral's command ability to unlock this guy's ability and cast the re-rolls to hit wherever needed.
2 battleline are going to be min squads of spearmen(10). Theese guys are just fodder, I dont expect them to do anything but soak up a few attacks and play objectives.
thats it, 1000 points, 5 units. I'm concerned that mortal wounds will crush my dragons wich leaves me with virtually nothing after that.
What do you guys think, do i have a shot?
what would you change in the list and what would you use to destroy my general?
