My first thread!

Loved painting these models so much I wanted to share, lovely models. These are not mine (sadly) I painted them for commission, but I do have some Rohan troops for my own collection coming soon, as they say.

Those are beautiful. I've wanted to paint a set for a while, this may just push me to pick them up. Are these the plastic ones?

Welcome to Dakka, always great to see some LotR action, and especially to such quality! My only criticism would be that Legolas's face looks a little pale/grey go me (might just be the lighting), other than that they're stunning!

Technical seen very well painted. Good clothes but the faces are a bit palid. Especially Aragorn & Legolas. So grey...

If i'm not mistaken these are not plastic mini's. I have the old set, and personally these mini's were very hard to paint. Especially the faces.

These are finecast models, not my favourite material to work with, not even my second favourite, but this set were not too bad. Not good enough to convince me to collect any myself, but not bad enough to make me mutter "never again" when prepping them!

The skins are pale, that's deliberate on my part, I am a northerner and we tend to have paler skin. The elf skin is especially pale, that's just the way I have always imagined them in my mind - I do think that they (elves) should have a different complexion to humans/dwarfs/hobbits.

Looks like finecast may have had an effect on Aragorn's blade. It doesn't seem to match up properly, but that's a mistake in the material's creator, not yours. Your paint job is stunning. The work is very impressive. Although I'm also in the camp that legolas is a bit pale.
