The Phoenicum sort of sounds like a good place for a Mordheim-style game to take place in the inner ruins and deep tunnels. :-)

4 towns. 4 Grand Alliances. Coincidence?

Apart from that, I have a feeling I've heard Phoenicum before. Can't put my finger on it though.

If the future of AoS really is based off game results, I really hope 1 GA doesn't steamroll the other 3 because of sheer numbers. This is because at my FLGS the AoS campaign signups are REALLY strong. However, around 70% of players (including myself) play an Order faction. I don't know how this will affect the fluff, or how it reflects other areas, but the fluff won't really be very good if it is all "uh, well Order defended the cities pretty well."

Looking forward to seeing how this will play out.

As I said in one of the other forums, my ArchWarlock is participate because of a deal with the pestilens who fight for him and the nurgle daemons they keep around, so he has to participate either way. But that industrial town would have enticed him anyqay. I mean, what greedy Ratman WOULDN'T want to nab an entirely new, ultra-powerful power source?

But the towns are all Order right?

And they're all in the Realm of Life (or at least partly)?

Where's Phoenicum?

Cities retaken by Order after a grueling victory with heavy loses physically and mentally, (and resources). I can predict at least one of these last three as a pyrrhic victory.

Where did you read this? Is it a book we can buy or is there a link for it? I know I have been harsh on AoS lore, I am trying to change and willing to start again.

Hammerhal - The Twin-Tailed City
A city that exists in two halves either side of a Realm Gate?? Awesome. This is exactly the stuff AoS was made for. I love the idea that they channel lava from the realm of fire side to hold back the trees in the realm of life. It's also interesting that this is a massive stronghold for the Aelves on one side and seems to be for the Devoted on the other.

Imagine an army based on this city, two distinct halves, one red one green. Could be awesome!

Yes sounds interesting. Also first thing I thought off, Minneapolis. I just think I pissed the people off in St. Paul.

Greywater Fastness

The industrial blight in the middle of the Realm of Life. I love the idea of this one. A giant floating city powered by magic and steampunk technologies. Although a bastion of Order, this one has destroyed the countryside around it like some giant polluted factory and has given cause for the Sylvaneth and Order to come to blows.

As my army is Freeguild, Ironweld and err whatever the magic dudes are called again, this is going to be the city I will try and defend.

First thing I thought of when you said Steampunk and magic is Warmachine.

I'm so excited to see how this all plays out.

What are your thoughts everyone?

I am too as well. Sucks I can't partake in these events though without traveling an hours drive.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

In the AoS App, choose 'books' and then 'Gaming Aids' and it's a free download. About 4 pages long with a map and stuff :-)

These cities sound so cool. It's good to hear that the aelves are have a part in these cities.

All I see is is when I click on "books" is Battletomes, The Realmgate Wars, Citadel Painting Guides and Black Library with opens up a web page on my iPad. Am I missing something? Also how do I know if my AoS app is up to date? I don't really want to uninstall it and reinstall it again because it was a pain to install all the free war scrolls.

I tried that, it didn't work. So I thought maybe the AoS app didn't auto up date so I went to the App store, and went to Updates. I see there is an update now. Now I see seasons of war and the new FAQs as well.

Thank you for your help Swampmist and Bottle for your help. Greatly appreciated.

Ooh, good thinking!

Also, the city was covered in a flood of sap before the aelves fixed it. GorkaMorka was once captured by a creature who called itself a god of the beast realm that was made of sap/amber. Connection?

Anyway, totally called the Sylvaneth not liking the huge chunk of floating civilization in the middle of their lands. Was really surprised they actually attacked the FreeGuild over it, though.

Another thing, the city with one side in the realm of fire (great army idea on that one, Bottle) mentioned that the Ironweld used mobile forts to claim more land on the fire side.

Possible future model or finally an Order building? Would be cool as a mobile structure moving on the battlefield and fighting over it to see who controls it.

Oh yeah, some sort of moving watchtower could be incredible! I really hope the Ironweld gets expanded upon. At the moment they are probably the least cohesive of the factions as the old Empire and Dwarfs look quite different aesthetically.
