Hello everyone, now that AoS has finally got a point system it has exploded at my FLGS. Because of this I have decided to pick up the new Sylvaneth army as I am a big fan of several of the new models, in particular the Kurnoth Hunters. The idea behind this list is to expand upon the models in the miniature range I enjoy the most, this is my first attempt at this list so let me know what you guys think and thanks for posting!

I'm not convinced that Revenants are distinctly better than the equivalent points of Dryads. Dryads are cheaper and in most situations they have similar stat-lines. When targeting a single unit the dryads are 2 attacks 3's/4's while a Revenant if i remember correctly is 3 attacks 3's then 4's rend -1.
However when the Dryads are in a unit of over 12 models they gain a 4+ Sv, and when inside a wood enemies are at -1 to hit. So that means when those Dryads are in a wood they have a 3+ Sv with -1 to hit, and being a larger unit they benefit more from inspiring presence and mystic shield. So I would probably suggest dropping one of the Revenants and 1 of the hunters to get yourself a big dryad unit to form the anchor for your lines.

The issue is you can no longer take squads of 12, you have to purchase them in sets of certain numbers now so the dryads for example you only can purchase them in sets of 10 for a set point value.
Also I'm taking the tree revenants for their special ability, quite a few people @my flgs utilize artillery and the ability to be able to teleport within 3 inches of any Wyldwood or along any board Edge will be very useful to counter that.

I'm just a little worried about the amount of feet on the ground, being very few. For each Revenant you get almost 2 dryads (100 for 5 against 10 for 120). Sure, revenants are more mobile and can disrupt artillery, however question if that is actually an issue considering the Kurnoth Guard have 30'' bows. 30'' is a very long range in AoS, you'll be in range of enemy artillery by turn 2 at the latest, turn 1 in some deployment set ups. Those Bows will rip artillery crews apart and don't require you to sacrifice a good chunk of your man power to do it.
By dropping 1 Revenant and 1 Hunter you get a 20 women unit that is really durable and can hold objectives/scenario better then most and can tar pit as well. You've got the heavy hitters, the ranged support, the monstrous support and the mobile elements, all your force is missing is an anvil.

Your general will get sniped but the kurnoth spam seems pretty scary. I think there is a battalion that will boost Kurnoth hunters so why not take a look into that : https://www.games-workshop.com/en-CA/Sylvaneth-Free-Spirits
