I run Guard. I play Wyvrens.
Now, when firing.....
The first shot scatters and does not come close.
Do all my remaining shots center on where that first shot hit, or can I aim my second shot at the original target?

Thanks

Check out the rules for Multiple Barrages (rulebook page 160) - it's not optional to fire the shots separately, they must use the position of the first.

Remember, however, that a Wyvern's weapons are Twin-Linked, allowing you to re-roll the scatter and distance dice.

crap, I forgot about rerolling the twin linked! That could have helped!
Thanks!

Another addendum - if you roll a "Hit" with the subsequent shots scatter, it can be placed in contact with any previous marker, including previous "Hit"s. This means that with enough "Hit"s it is possible to "walk" the barrage back onto enemies after a terrible opening shot.

Listen to Quanar. I have missed by 6+ inches, and then rolled three hits (using the twin linked re-roll) and walked all the way back onto target. With a unit of three I had, the next two got to place any hit roll on the template I walked back. Wyvern's can do a lot of damage, but you have to use your rules, and its best to have multiple blast templates so they can be left on table.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Not quite as the wyvern has two morters which each shoot two blasts, so its base shot with reroll then the second, then the other base shot with reroll and second shot. Also useful if you have a tech near by to give it machine spirit.

Not quite Skullhammer - the multiple barrage rule applies to all barrage shots by a single unit - so a mortar heavy weapon team, or Wyvern squadron fires a single "ranging shot", from which all other shots by that unit deviate from. In the case of a full Wyvern squadron this means 11 blast markers rolling just the scatter dice (no 2D6). The first shot is also used for directionality of cover saves (irrelevant in the case of Wyverns) and wound allocation.
