I just moved back to Thomaston after spending a few years in New Jersey, where I was introduced to Warhammer 40k by my D&D group. I am still a relatively new player, but I have already fallen in love with the game and am desperate to play again.
I have a decent Nurgle-themed CSM/Daemon army, some generic CSMs, and am in the process of building a Khorne Daemonkin army. A lot of my models are unpainted/in process, and I am not squared away enough for WYSIWYG *yet*, but I'm getting there.
I'm looking for local players for friendly games. If you live within an hour's drive or so of Thomaston, I would be willing to come to you. Bonus points if you have an army I haven't fought before (I've played against Iron Hands/SM, Tau, Tyrannids, and Necrons). If you know anyone in my area, feel free to give them my contact info.
Contact info available upon request via PM.

I live in Maine, I play Orkz but I am selling most of my 40k Collection on Ebay. I still have some Ork Models that I am allowing to escape the Ebay onslaught. I live 2 hours from Thomaston and thus probably too far, but I at least wanted to say welcome to Maine (or welcome back as it were).

Thanks! Yeah I probably won't want to drive two hours for a single game, but maybe we could meet halfway at a gaming site some time? Or you could come to me... I've always wanted to battle some Orkz!

I live in the Bangor area and have a couple friends that play. If you ever find yourself coming up this way let me know. Maybe we can set up a game or something!

Count me in, my collection might be sporadic but I know I have at least 500-1000 points. I want to try Combat Patrol and Game Citadel hosts monthly combat patrol despite no players.

There are some players at Game On in Augusta, and a game tomorrow in fact, about an hour north of you. Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/327664967363793/
I'm about a half hour north of you, though I play only rarely in the current rules era. Automatically Appended Next Post: Greenhouse games in Gardiner sees some play also.

I am relatively close to Bangor to the west of it. I prefer LOTR SBG over 40k, but of course I have both.

Only issue I have at citadel is the monthly combat patrol is on Saturday in the afternoon. I always work during those hours. And my buddy that plays is my co worker now and he works with me all day that day 90% of the time and I doubt both of us could get it off especially where I am the manager. We both do have Sunday off. But citadel is only open from 12-6 on Sunday. :(

Awesome, thanks for the reply! I actually went up yesterday to Greenhouse Games and got to play a 750 pt game versus a Necron army. My first time playing Daemonkin and I got to see the Gorepack in action for the first time!
I'll definitely have to check that group out, might not make it today though. I just got out of work. If you're that close though, we could just set up our own game some time. I have a big table and some (mostly unpainted) terrain.

Bangor is slightly more of a hike for me than Augusta, but if there are this many players up there, it sounds like it's worth it! Perhaps we should set up a game day and all get together? If your local shop has tables, they probably wouldn't mind us putting them to use if there's a gap in their event schedule!
As for the combat patrol thing, I'll be working Saturdays soon, myself. Sundays and Thursdays will be my days off.

I am relatively open any day of the week except Sundays. Game Citadel might be a great hotspot for game days for sure. If this gets enough interest then I might actually take the plunge in my Militarum Tempestus conversion project!

Haha, I just started tearing apart my chaos marines and true scaling them. Lots of work but totally worth the effort! I'll talk to my friend and see if something something like your schedules would work for us in some way. Game Citadel has table tops set aside due to general lack of play up here lately, but 5 or 10 minutes and we can have 3 tables up as long as there is no MtG events.
Teaser of the chaos marines!

Awesome! Just everyone remember how in-shambles my collection is. I might not be able to bring a worthy army to bear!
What is true-scaling? Are you making casts and resizing the casts or...?

True scaling is bringing marines to their true proportions based on fluff and true human proportions. So, where a marine model is almost exactly the same height as an imperial guardsman and they are supposed to be 7-1/2 -8 foot tall supersoldiers it isn't a very accurate depiction of them. So the biggest problem with marine models is their stumpy legs and their lower torso is too short. So by making some cuts,... (alot of cuts) you can put spacers in the lower and upper leg and one at the base of the torso to elongate it to human proportions. Then I cut out the feet, all the soft armor joints get cut out and I wanted to make them fully posable. So in all the little sections I drilled holes through the center of all the pieces and ran some steel wire through the whole model so I could pose every joint. Lots of work. But in my opinion totally worth it.

That looks cool, but way too much work for me! I'll just call my Chaos Marines squats instead.
