So with a few months of playing time in, and im sure a few tournaments that saw this thing fielded what is the general consensus from both Ork players and opponents who faced off against it?

Personally I didn't buy the model because after reading the rules I went apoplectic and came fairly close to quitting the game entirely. From what I read it looked like GW handing the Orks another unplayable POS model that looks amazing but dies to a stiff breeze. I am just curious if this turned out to be the case or if this thing is a hidden gem?

What were you expecting.

Anywayz, it's too early for despair. I'm doing good with trukk bully boyz + vsg. I've been doing somewhat fine with a gunline + blobs before libconclaves but i was thinking about abandoning horde style of playing even when i was winning a lot. Just too tiresome. Now bully boyz - i'm fine with that. 15 models and 3 trukks + VSG = almost half the list.

To be honest, i haven't tried blastajet. I have a ww2 plane with an ork sitting in a cockpit to proxy it but i just don't see the utility of a few small blasts per turn for such price in my list. It's allready full of pk and if i want s8 ap2 blasts, i just roll out kmk. Btw, got rid of kmk too - now only lobbas and lootas. Had one or two in my lists pretty often but now they can't re-roll gets hot => too risky.

I used one of my Blast jets in a gale a weekend ago.
It and two of my Dakka jets turned up on urn two. My Blast jet's first target was a Drop pod but the Telly porta blasta scattered off and hit nothing, rerolled and hit then I rolled a one. the smasha gun missed.
On my opponents turn it was hit but the KFF saved it from two glance and a Pen.
My Next turn it targeted a Tac squad colvering an objective and killed 5 of them with the balsta and one more with the smasha gun.
Leaving three marines who moved back into ruins and onto an objective. My Blast jet was shot down and promptly crashed onto the squad in the ruins killing another marine.
Not bad. However, I didn't notice it was a WAAAGH Plane and missed out on two additional shots I should have had. which would have changed things. Over all the tac squad was over 200 point and the blast jet nearly earned it's points back in it's first outing. With a Blastjet wing, two blast jets could potentially get 5 shots if the wing leader get that on the chart.
I think I wasted my first round of shooting with it, it should have targeted ground troops and not the drop pod. So next time it'll just fly around killing Infantry and squishy things. I'll leave the drop pods as easy targets for power Klaws.
