Hi guys.
I'm working upon the project of creating a complete War of The Rings army list for Silmarillion first age battles.
This means that it will touch only troops, monsters and heroes, while basic game rules will be unchanged.

The plan of the armies should be roughly the following (possibliìy it will be redeuced from 11 to 10 armies):

1. Noldor Elves
2. Teleri elves
3. The First Houses of Mankind
4. The Dwarven Kindoms
5. The Forgotten Realms
6. Morgoth Armies
7. The Balrog Hosts
8. Gorthaur Hosts
9. The Great Worm Swarm
10. The Queen of Spiders
11. The Newkomer Mankind

Each of these armies will have a general list of troops, and a list of specific of kingdoms/hosts:
- the general army list will describe all of the common and rare formations;
- the specific kindoms will describe legendary formations and heroes only restricted for them, and special rules to be applied to the general army list.

The kingdoms/hosts should be roughly as follows:

1. Noldor Elves (High Kings, Maedhros, Gondolin and Nargothrond)
2. Teleri elves (Falas, Doriath and Ossiriand)
3. The First Houses of Mankind (Beor, Hador and Haleth)
4. The Dwarven Kindoms (Nogrod and Belegost)
5. The Forgotten Realms (a mix of ents, eagles, maiar, Avari elves, etc.)
6. Morgoth Armies (Utumno and Angband)
7. The Balrog Hosts (Gothmog's; single army?)
8. Gorthaur Hosts (Tol in Gauroth, and agents spreaded in enemy kingdoms)
9. The Great Worm Swarm (Uruloki, and Winged Dragons)
10. The Queen of Spiders (spiders and other horrors; single army?)
11. The Newkomer Mankind (Dark Men, Lothlann Men, and Oriental Men).

By now, all the Elves have been completed.

This is an ambitious projet, virtually great and that, overall, will best result if a collaborating team will be formed.

I'd like to know if there is someone interested in helping me in accomplishing this work.
All the volunteers will be welcome.

I don't play Strategic Battles/The Hobbit, but's evident that completing this project implies an easy chance for a conversion to that game system.

I left this reply on another topic over in Specialist Games but then found this same question over here.

Spoiler:
I think it might be more fitting or perhaps make for more interesting armies if you laid them out more along the lines of how they are all related. More like this.

1- Sindar - Host of Doriath- Melian & Thingol
Allied men- House of the Haladin of Brethil
Allied Nandor- Green Elves of Ossiriand
- Ents of Mount Dolmed

2- Noldor of Eastern Beleriand - Sons of Fëanor
- Allied Men- Easterlings- House of Bór

3- The Host of Hithlum- Noldorin elves of High King Fingolfin
-Sindarin Elves of Mithrim
- Allied Men of Dor-Lómin - The House of Hador

4- Hidden City of Gondolin - King Turgon
- army of over 10,000 Elves
- the great Eagles

5- Kingdom of Nargothrond- Finrod Felagund
Allied Men- House of Beor- Men of Dorthonion

6- Dwarves of Nogrod - King Naugladur
Dwarves of Belegost - Lord Azgahâl
- Firebeards and Broadbeams
- Petty Dwarves

7 - Morgoth's Hoards
- Morgoth himself
-Orcs
- Glaurung First of the Fire-Drakes
- Gorthaur (Sauron)
- Balrogs- Led by Gothmog Lord of Balrogs
- Allied Men- Easterlings- House of Ulfang

I will be happy to help with Sillmarillion lore as I'm a huge Tolkien nerd but I never played WOR so I will be zero use for rules or anything related to game mechanics.
