So I have finished the first squad of converted rough riders for my Sister's of Steel IG army. Here is the second squad's color scheme. I am including two pics showing the conversion (amazon figure, GW bits, some greenstuff, Deus Vult horses and lances) and five pics showing the color scheme. The army is mordian blue based with bronze armor, and squad one had red highlights. So I went with Mordian blue caparisons, and wanted a red uniform, but it looked too gaudy. I changed to a black up to light grey uniform and gear. It has good contrast, even if I am not the greatest painter. I know the colors could really use some smoothing, but these are tabletop models and I have a LOT of this army still to paint, so...<shrug>

Let me know what you think. I love Rough Riders and hope to get at least three squads in this army.

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

I like him a lot, but not the horse. I'd try either a different brown entirely or some shades.

I'm with you on the horse. I tried a blood bay thing, and it's just a bit too red. Maybe a black wash will help. Thanks for the comment!
