Im looking to base some mini's on the simple. from most box art i see of models look like the pictures below.

could anyone point me in a direction that shows this way to base? thanks

Looks like just some sand, maybe a small rock, and some static grass is used. Any decent hobby shop that sells figures or railroad stuff should have what you need.

A couple of terrain companies you can check out, Woodland Scenic, and gale force nine, can get what you need from them online as well.

Army painter has some good grass and rocks (small chunks of cork) that can do that effect. Once the glue on the sand dries you can paint it however you want. Looks like gray with something lighter drybrushed.
