Subject: Silver Tower - Shard OP??

Hello all,
I absolutely love this game, but one in my group just started playing that "tenebreal Shard" hero, and if we play it eight, He just seems faaar to OP? Here is the thing that keeps happening:
I die as my stormcast guy in the final chamber. The Shard now just uses his shadowstrike to move ANYWHERE on the board. So, He moves Like 3 entire maps away from everyone. The enemies have to spend at least 3 rounds just moving to him, and meanwhile He Can shadowstrike in and out to deal Quick damage with no chance to dying. It just seems too overpowered? Last game He killed 4 acolytes AND a full-health ogroid thaumaturge all by himself.
I know that action needs a 6+, but if He is the only one left He gets 4 hero dice + all destiny dice AND He has a chance to get a free action on any attack He does, which Can also be used for this.
Are we playing this right, or? I could understand if it Said He could teleport anywhere in the SAME chamber, but it says board?
Thanks in advance.

When it says board I have reason to believe it means the board tile he is currently on, this applies to anything that mentions the board. Also it doesn't sound like you've got the rules entirely correct, the best thing to do with silver tower is to fully read the rules before you start playing as there are quite a few you need be familiar with before you start playing. Of course I could be wrong about the board tile thing, and there has been an faq released for silver tower that can be found here which would be worth checking anyway.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
That makes more sense! I hope that is the case, but i haven't found anywhere in the rules booklet that says that "board" is a reference to the current "map-tile", i can only find about the Current Chamber.
And about the rules i generel, i do believe i got a pretty good grasp on those. The only thing throwing me off is that Shard guy. Can you find anywhere where the rules say that they actually only mean that single board-tile, and not every single map on the board?

No problem, I'm afraid I don't have my copy of the rules to hand at the moment, however when I have been playing it anything that refers to the board has been treated as the board tile otherwise there are a few abilities and things that would be op to the point where they remove any challenge from the game.

I also interpreted that to mean the particular floor he is on. There's no way he can zip all across the play area like that, it'd break the gameplay.

Board is in play, chamber is specific tile. (But it's GW, so consistency isn't exactly their strong suit.)
Regarding balance, the whole game's really easy. If you're gaming it, IDK, I find that similar to ego tripping off of punking newbs, where I'm not really sure what you get out of it other than annoying others. Yeah, you can glory hog your way to the top, but then your level cap will kick in and you'll be around the same level as your "friends" and they won't be inclined to help you.
And, have you been playing with vanishing chambers? since that generally limits the total maximum distance to be 2 tiles away (start in adjacent chamber to current chamber, end in an opposite chamber adjacent to current chamber).

i have played with vanishing chambers yea, but i don't think the game is super easy (unless you play with the shard). It really depends a lot on the unexpected events if you ask me. You can get some nasty ones at bad times xD
However, i contacted GW about the shard, and they actually say it is meant to be played that he can do it ALL OVER the board, on ANY tile currently visible... We houseruled it away to mean the current tile, because i think the other thing is just silly.

We've given all enemies a 5+ save and have still been cruising through, still haven't had a single grievous injury. Maybe it gets exponentially harder or something, but so far it's been crazy-easy. Enjoyable, but easy.
