Does anyone know anything about the next Warhammer 40k starter set? We have been on dark vengeance for quite a long time and Assault on black reach is completely out of date. I heard about one called "Beachhead stygia" that was presumably coming out a couple of years ago but there has been no rumors/ news since.

They likely won't change the starter set until 8th edition, and maybe not even then (Dark Veng was the starter for both 6th and 7th - they just opened it and changed the rulebook and bonus character).

I think it's gonna be scatterbikes and wave serpents vs 3 riptides.

Most likely it will be (loyalist) marines vs. xenos - Eldar haven't had a turn in a box set (don't expect Aspect warriors though), nor have Necrons or Tau. Orcs have been in a starter set twice.

Personally, I'd like to see a starter set with Space Wolves vs. Tau, but my guess is we'll see the Start Collecting boxes come with a mini rule book for 8E instead of a starter set.

They could go back to the poster boys and do a Damocles styl UM v Tau, or maybe give RG or WS some love.

Space marines vs necrons would tick the 'marines vs evil' box. However i am expecting a complete change for next edition e.g. Age of Primarchs, so there may not be a box as we have known them.

one idea might be to show off allies, and do a Imperium vs Chaos.
