This book is fantastic. I highly recommend the read to all players, even if they have no interest in building a Sylvaneth Army.

I'm a fervent player and fan of AoS, but there is one thing I've absolutely despised since the beginning: The Lore. Not only I found it to be very lackluster in creativity, I also found the writing very poor. The Seraphon Battletome being the worst read I've ever had in anything produced by GW, and finding the Stormcast Eternal books and lore very bland, I had little hope to ever see a good lore in AoS. I'm glad to see how wrong I was.
The Sylvaneth Battletome is rich in background stories and compelling characters. It takes its time to describe many different Wargroves and their traits, giving the Sylvaneth faction a depth I didn't expect. Most importantly, and unlike the Seraphon Battletome, it makes sense. No more random name dropping and abstract locations and battles that make no sense. This is well constructed.

Game-wise, the return of faction traits, magic, and items is fantastic and bears great hopes for the future of AoS.

If the upcoming Battletome releases are as rich in writing and generous in content as this one, AoS is up for a bright future.

I used to spend countless hours going over every little scrap of detail in the old army books so it's good to hear they're really putting the effort into this one. I like the Stormcast lore but I thought the battle tome didn't really flesh out the faction well enough: they kinda rushed through the organisation and most of the different characters/units only got a rather brief blurb.

Yes that's exactly how I feel towards previous Battletomes. This one is the opposite of it!

Hey Haechi, my wallet is telling you to shut up please. He doesn't want me spending anymore money. Just kidding there.

You are a fresh of breath air and I didn't have this book on my radar but now, when I have the money for it, I am going to have to pick it up.

I swear if I buy any minis because of this book, my wife is going to kill me.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I think it has to be said that the Sylvaneth release IN GENERAL has been a huge step up on GW's part. This in combination with the GH coming out and the global campaign, AOS isn't holding anything back now.

Only took for Kirby to leave and have someone who knows what they are doing and shockingly not a Kirby cronnie. The Age of Roundtree has begun!

I agree with the OP, I've been playing 40k more or less since 2005 only moving to AoS maybe a month ago going with Sylvaneth. This book has to be the nicest looking one I've seen since the Iyanden one. I really liked the artwork in that one too, but this one's a bit nicer as well. Probably my favourite one so far.
