Hardened Veteran Guardsman

Hello

For the past few days I have been making objective markers for my w40k group. I made a dead partially present space marine as an objective. I made it look like he stepped on a mine or IED and lost his bottom half. I also made it seem like he was left there for quite a while. So his armour is corroded and lost its colour.

Now I'm making a dead guardsmen that gave his life away to protect his comrades. Now I'm waiting for the basing to dry. I corroded his armour and old blood stains his skin and armour. But I was wondering, how can I give his khaki colored uniform a more "old and weathered" look. I use steel legion drab for the uniform colour. Can you guys help give me a tip or two perhaps? Maybe you could give me a paint to use and I could run down to gw.

Thanks!

I can't help with specific paints, but clothing tends to fade to a much lighter color if it's been left outside to the elements. I'd suggest finding whatever GW color is a few shades lighter than the khaki you originally used, and then drybrushing it very, very lightly multiple times to get it looking really faded and worn.

I'd suggest using several thin layers of agrax earthshade on the edges that would have been laying in the dirt and getting the most build up. That or weathering powder (or the cheaper alternative, borrowed eyeshadow).
Sounds like a cool project, share some pics.
