Yes or no? Also could you provide the pros and cons of having it vs not having it.

Thanks guys!

To many unpainted models to count.

Its a pretty cheap upgrade that swaps rending for ap3. More reliable against some things, less potential damage to vehicles. or 2+, but you have plasma talons to kill those. I like it to eat challenges for your HQ in there.

I say it's a waste of points. You have enough attacks with Rending to overwhelm most targets, and therefore the more reliable AP3 is unnecessary. Plus you're likely to have a character joining with a more reliable weapon as well.

Gambling on 6's isn't a great plan. Reliable AP3 is a good thing.

For 5 points why not? As the above posters have said he has reliable AP3 and can eat challenges that otherwise you would have to risk a more valuable character for (like your Chaplain or Librarian).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.
