I'm gonna need a new gaming mouse..
Any reccomendations around the MadCAtz RAT 3 price level?
Love the ergonomics on that mouse. But the buttons really arent the best..
My left mouse button is giving me some major issues.. Like random inputs without me clicking any buttons.
I'm in the middle of a rush and all of a sudden my gun empties the mag without me even touching the mouse button.
I'ts only a bit over three months old. so should last longer before dying..

If you haven't already, you might want to check the warranty on it, if it's got a one year warranty, you could just get a replacement.
Personally, I tried one of those RAT mice awhile back, and it also didn't work out for me (it was supposed to be a super spiffy one with two separate lasers, one for each axis of movement, and one of them started to fail). I currently use a Logitech G502 and it works great for me. Oddly enough, that RAT mouse I went for was the very first time I ever tried a non-Logitech product. Logitech keyboards and mice have never failed me.

Seconding the g502. Just picked it up to replace my non-gaming wireless Logitech that has lasted me some 5 years (the batteries almost as long, gak was crazy). I immediately fell in love with this mouse. Amazing sensor works on anything, on the fly DPI adjustment, great ergonomics, perfect amount of buttons.
And it has pretty lights. I'm a sucker for RGB gak though.
Alternatively, I hear good stuff about SteelSeries Rival mice and most of Corsair's range.

Any mouse that lasts only three months frankly sucks.
Your mouse might be oversensitive and you can profit by adjusting the settings. Also physically look at the buttons themselves, the way they physically connect. Connections can get worn and need reinforcing, you can do this by shaving a bit of sprue and using modelling glue to bulk up the worn connector. Yes I am saying you might profit my doing a modelling conversion on your mouse. It worked for me, I had a mouse with worn buttons because the connector beneath is a piece of soft plastic which gets dented over time. This shouldn't happen over only three months though. so the problem is more likely electronic thasn physical. If this is the case and changing the sensitivity srttings doesnt work then you need to replace the mouse.
As has been advised check your warranty.
Also when you replace look at what you are buying. Its a fething computer mouse, you might not need a flash expensive one when a plain mouse will probably serve better. I had a look at the MadCAtz RAT 3 and didnt even recognise it as a mouse to look at. Is it actually better, is it comfortable. You can get a cheap reliable no-frills rodent and be happily using it years down the line. Computer mice are not exactly an emerging technology, they are at a high plateau and a cheap one often serves better than a flash one as less frills means less to go wrong.
