Hi guys,

Say I have an army using the orbital assault rite of war. Everything is in pods except a few squads that have the deep strike rule without needing pods (terminators [granted the rule by the ROW], assault marines, land speeders etc). How many of those units are required by the rules to start on the table? The 40k rulebook states that 50% of units must start on the table except units that MUST start off the table (units in drop pods).

Does this mean that half of my units not in drop pods (maybe for example, one assault squad) would be required to footslog? Ideally I would like to have everything deepstriking.

Thanks so much in advance!

From my understanding, the ROW over-rules the rule you're quoting. Doesn't the ROW state that EVERYTHING must deep strike (or something along those lines?)

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

The 50% rule does exist in 7th Edition, and as far as I am aware the Age of Darkness expansion rules don't re-add it back into the rules.

Yes, you still have standard rules for non-drop podders and 50% of non-exempt stuff still has to be there.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Thats a 6th edition rule - there's no requirement to start 50% of your models on the board in 7th.

As per the errata every unit has to be able to deep strike but those who start outside of transports, i.e. assault marines, jetbikes, etc DO NOT have to start in reserves!
