Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

The tetrad, as we all know, is a beast at 2000-3000pt games. But how well does it scale? Has anyone ever used the tetrad at 5000-10000pt games? Can it still pull it's weight?

I am asking because I have a doubles 10,000pt game this week and I am wondering whether to take the tetrad or perhaps splurge on an apocalypse formation.

Thanks.
