So I need to confirm something around detachments and formations.

I was planning on running this:

HQ:
Bjorn
Wolf Guard Battle Leader on Thunderwolf
Wolf Guard Battle Leader on foot

Troops:
5x Blood Claws

Elites:
5 x Wulfen

Heavy Support:
Missile Launcher Long Fangs
Missile Launcher Long Fangs
Stormfang

Formations:
Wolfkin:
2x5 Fenrisian Wolves

Deathpack:
5x Grey Hunters
6 Thunderwolves
Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf

So my question is, do the formations count towards the detachment FOC allocations?

i.e. the Deathpack grey hunters = one of my two troops?

This was I can fit the wolves unleashed detachment - 4 HQ, 2 troops, 1 elite, 3 Heavy, 3 Fast.

Does that work?

Formations are standalone detachments, and units cant be in multiple detachments:
Therefore no, this wouldn't work.
You would have to drop the formations and dedicate them to being in the Wolves detachment to work

You can not run this without another troops choice.

Okay, cool, so if I squeeze in 5 more blood claws or grey hunters, this will be legal.

Actually, you have 3 HQ's, you'd need go 2 elites and run Company of the Great Wolf found in the Champions of Fenris suppliment in order to field this right. (up to 6 HQ, 2 Elites being required instead of troops).
