Hi all I recently did my MBTI personality test and then did the first thing that came to mind and googled MBTI and 40k. I found an interesting thread about what personality traits do people have and what 40k army they mainly use. Unfortunately it was over 3 months old and when I tried to post it was locked due to Necromancy(My bad). So I'm creating this new thread to reask the same question with a poll to get some #'s of how many of each MBTI personality that frequents these fourms.
So list your main army and vote your MBTI personality and lets get some #'s and you can also post what attracts you to your "main" army.
Here is a link to the personality test if anyone is intrested in taking it.
https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test
and here is the link to the old thread.

My main army is Tyranids. I started 40k many years ago back in 2nd ED. I've gotten in and out several times and owned just about every army you can have and eventually settled back on Tyranids. I love the models, the swarmieness, the mods, and interesting tactical options that Tyranids bring to the table. Also they are just cool and are gonna eat everyone :-)

It depends on the test, and it's always either INTP or ISTP.
Necrons all the way followed by Space Marines.

INFP, Space Marines.
I picked them when I was 14 and I've just stuck with them ever since. I've occasionally flirted with the idea of going Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tau... just about any other army, but I've never gone further than buying a model or two. I love the versatility of the SM kit. They have few totally worthless units and it is difficult to make a list that isn't competitive enough for friendly matches at the FLGS.

INFP, and I primarily play Ultramarines Space Marines.
They've been my main army since I started, and although I've since branched out to IG, a second SM force (Deathwatch) 30k Ultras, and some rapid assault Tau in the pipeline, my Ultramarines remain my primary.

INTP, Guard.
Introverted
iNtuitive
Thinking
Perceiving
Introverted/Extroverted: I don't think these play into what army you enjoy, so I'm going to ignore them.
Intuitive:
(from http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/mbti-basics/sensing-or-intuition.htm)
"I like to see the big picture, then to find out the facts."
"I trust impressions, symbols, and metaphors more than what I actually experienced"
For the first above (big picture):
I like Guard because I have have a massive foot slogging army, or massed amounts of tanks, or a mix. I think I start out building every list with an image of what my army will look like, and then I drill down into the details to make it happen. I get a feeling what type of battle I'd want ("I think just vehicles sounds fun!" or "I just want special weapons all day erry day") and then I go about actually making that a reality on the tabletop.
For the second above (impressions over reality):
I tend to look back on battles as all the cool things that happened, and even if something was a failure, if they died heroically, then I'd probably take the same failure unit again. My impression was that it was fun, so I "won", even if I lost the battle.
Thinking:
"I can be seen as too task-oriented, uncaring, or indifferent."
"I make decisions with my head and want to be fair."
For the first (uncaring/indifferent):
I really don't care if my unit of carefully painted troops dies first turn. Guard stuff is pretty weak, and it's supposed to die.
For the second (fairness):
I enjoy making "fluffy" lists, and feel bad when taking anything that can be remotely considered "cheese". The Guard are not considered a cheesey army by any standard.
Perceiving:
"I like to stay open to respond to whatever happens."
"I like to approach work as play or mix work and play."
For the first (stay open):
I like that I can make a semi-competent list for any situation. I don't feel like Guard specialize in one area over another.
For the second (work and play):
I think the Guard have some cool vehicles, and with how many troops and vehicles you can take in a list, every battle can be different, so I enjoy playing around with new combinations.

Too bad that test is complete nonsense with no scientific value. The same person can take it four times and get four entirely different results. It really is the predecessor of those quizzes people used to fill out on livejournal. "Which 19th century monarch are you?" "Which Scooby Doo character are you?" "Which member of KISS are you?" "Which Robocop movie are you?" and so on ad nauseum.
Word of advice: If you're applying for a job and they make you take that test, you are applying to work for idiots who probably won't pay you. Just walk away.

Logician, INTP-A.
While my result do seem to be spot-on, the whole test doesn't at all seem to correlate to my reasons for my army use.
I'm surprised I don't play Orks, as they're my favourite in DoW, but the techy appeal of AdMech touches on my science fetish.
To be more specific about what I do use:
Go big, or go home Mélee centricity, using tough, in-expendable units that absolutely pull their weight.
Not sure that's so akin to a personality type that's suppose to think things through methodically.
I just really like brute force and robots.
- Bonus point -
I'm absolutely dumbfounded that some employers use this test.
Sure, I can see its uses, but surely the main point of the interview is to gauge how someone is? All the ones I've been to have resulted in a spot-on first impression of what I'm like. Frankly, I think my test result would actually give the wrong idea.

TheEyeOfNight I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes.
Tactical_Spam Vanden clearly loves making sweet sweet love to his school. He is the most passionate, learning oriented individual you will ever meet.
War Kitten You should ask nicely before hitting people with your stick Vanden. We're a polite society after all.
2BlackJack1 Snow is great though. Snowmen, snowball fights, frostbite, snow forts, what's not to love?
Kharne the Befriender It's just the smug look of eternal irony while you wait for Creed to pull out his Baneblade so you can steal it.
War Kitten I love how this has gone from a deathly serious war to a discussion about how Vanden is secretly a whale wearing panties. Welcome to the Crusade of Fury.
Irishpeacockz Well this crusade will be endless then as I imagine Vandan has a large collection of inflatables lying around

The high occurence of INT results is due mostly to hobbiests being introverted yet social creative problem solvers. Pre-Video gaming has been a closet niche for decades, that only really want mainstream when trading card games became a fad. These days being nerdy is cool, so playing thd needy games is the in thing at the moment, hince the rise of e-sports.

I got ENFJ-A, the protagonist.
I play Chaos/mono Nurgle, so I guess I'm a worthy champion that believes in his followers.
I also favor Nurgle because he's the only Chaos god with a sense of humor and cares about his children (in doubtful ways...).
I can't really recall what got me to death Guard/ Nurgle exactly, but over the years there were many little bits in the fluff that I found more and more interesting. The fight of the Death Guard for freedom of any oppression in pre-heresy times for example. Rebellion against that stupid imperium seems legit.
