Thanks for the reply, I hadn't considered the
FAQ re the Hawks, does that also affect their intercept of fliers, or the pie-plate grenade blasts? I never used them in melee back in the day, they would have got munched as far too flimsy! I guess vs tanks that's a big nerf from the
FAQ
And yes, the raider wouldn't start in reserve, just to get the harlies up the field quickly with just a little extra protection. Perhaps not worth it now you can't deep strike allies from reserve. Shame. I have also considered
WWP by joining the succubus to the harlies instead.
Spiders I've avoided, although I have a squad painted up, it's just to stop the 'theyre
OP' squealing! Likewise resisting putting a wraithlord in there. Plus I don't like the model (likewise the Crimson hunter
tbh), Altho the hemlock is interesting just for leadership-based shenanigans.
I've always found a scary looking big model (and the
WL certainly looks that way) draws more fire than it should by its true worth. Seeing that thing bounding forward should scare a few idiots into targeting it rather than some of the more damaging but less obvious unitS. Maybe people are wise to that now but player psychology shouldn't be discounted!
Definitely need to playtest it, can't wait. Particularly looking forward to reapers, farseer and Maugan Ra cruising in their starweaver, sounds like lots of fun
Thanks for the comments dude! Been an Eldar enthusiast since Rogue trader days - still have the hard bound book and a load of old hammer figures. Hopefully some will see combat again!!
