Tournament rules for X-Wing have just been updated. There's some quite big change to the system so anyone headed to any events after August 1st would benefit from reading them.

Basically the biggest changes are the removal of draws and modified wins from the scoring system, instead there is a straight binary 1 point for a win 0 points for a loss system. Players who would be tied
when time is called and they've played the final round or who achieve mutual destruction determine victory based on the new Final Salvo rule-
Final Salvo
If both players have the same score at the end of a game, they must fire a Final Salvo to
determine the winner. To fire a Final Salvo, each player adds together the printed, unmodified
primary weapon value of his or her remaining, undestroyed ships and rolls attack dice equal to
that number. The player who rolls the highest total number of combined hits and critical hits
wins the game. If both players roll an equal number hits and critical hits, they roll again until a
winner is determined.
If a game ends in mutual destruction, each player adds together the printed, unmodified primary
weapon value of all ships in his or her squad.

Really not a fan of this one, may well impact on my tournament attendance if they don't ditch the RNG bs.

This Is Where the Fish Lives

I've been playing this game competively for three years and the game in general since it came out and I don't remember ever ending a game in a tie.

Also, this was done because of the removal of intentional draws. Players could just "decide" to tie the game since they can't intentionally draw and this mechanic is out in place to make sure there is always a winner.

And some, I assume, are good people."

Depressingly at a previous game night kit I managed a 0-0 draw with someone. I would say "#?!!?? Green Dice", but obviously I was as guilty as the other guy.

This was prior to the 'half value for large ships' change, though.
