Legio Infernus-

Blood Host Detachment:

LoW: Wrath of khorne thirster [300]

SlaughterCult:

-Chaos lord on bike, korlath axe, Lightning claw, melta bombs [175]
-Blood letters, banner, bloodreaper [105]
-CSM 10x, autocannon, plasma gun, rhino, champ with claw, [255]
- Possessed, rhino [185]

: Gorepack:
-Bikes, 2x melta guns, champ-melta bomb [101]
-Bikes, 2x melta guns, champ-melta bomb [101]
-Fleshounds [80]

War Engines:
-2x maulerfiends [260]
-1x soul grinder +plegm [165]
-Helbrute, plasma cannon, powerfist with heavy flamer [125]

1847*

Idea is to put lord with fleshhounds. What to do with the possesed? Was going to backfield camp with the soul grinder. Use Marines as fire support of close range assault along with helbrute. Bikes and maulers go tank hunting. Blood thirster flies around being a nuisance until 2nd bloodthirster appears. I know i spent alot of points on the csm but wasnt sure where to put the excess points.

These are most of the models I own. The only ones i have extra that i didnt use are a daemonprince, extra zerkers, extra csm, and extra letters, and termies. Good enough to bring into my flgs? Dont really need it to be super tourney worthy.

Possesed can't deep strike.

Also I'm pretty sure you can't get all of those weapons at once for your CSM squad (should be capped at 2).

Otherwise considering the models you have it seems fine.

Your right! I guess ill be camping some backfield of objectives or advancing up with the helbrute. Took off the flamer on the marines and put melta bombs on the lord to give him more ass to kick before he dies.

Drop the Hellbrute, add more hounds.. done and done.

I agree with the idea of bringing more hounds. I do like Helbrutes, but only when brought with a Mayhem Pack and reaper autocannons.

What makes you say that? Sadly I don't own any hounds at the moment, just the stuff I posted. I could get my hands on more though.

I'm not him, but I would guess that it's because it doesn't fit very well with the rest of your army. You have a whole lot of fast moving units, regular infantry in fast boxes, long range firepower, deep striking demons, and a Helbrute. By the time it catches up with your army, if it doesn't get shot up first, it will be too late to help much.

Hounds, on the other hand, are amazing. The gorepack is the best formation in the KDK book.

That is solid advice. I was using the brute as cheap long range fire support since its the same range as the grinder.

In that case, ditch the heavy flamer and pick up one more hound, at the least.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
To save money on the flesh hounds, you can substitute Chaos Warhounds, they are much cheaper and look much better.

Pretty much what he said -- sure a little long range fire support is fine, but KDK makes its money in CC, and being able to quickly get into it. Hounds are perfect for charging up into the enemy's face and tying up important units, while the rest of the heavy hitters roll in behind them. As counter-intuitive as it sounds, our units (and champs) dying actually boost the army... a unit of hounds dies, summon another with blood tithe! Hounds really are just the best point-for-point unit in the codex though... don't underestimate the toughness/wounds, hammer of wrath, collar of khorne and the pure speed. It's extrememly hard to chew through a unit of hounds to get to a Lord on Jugger hidden in there.
