This item is amazing and often heavily targeted because of the buff it gives to the army, my question is what is the best/safest unit to carry the item? There are so many choices what has worked best for you?

I use a herald inside of a deathstar. For example, tzeentch herald on disc in a unit of screamers. 3++ re-rolling 1's isn't going anywhere. And that's without cursed earth.

Or a drone-star. Basically the grim will make any unit (even dogs) very tough to remove because of the (at minimum) 3++ that it provides.

A FMC is a good idea to, especially a LOC for the increased chance of saving a wound. Nurgle isn't great because they typically want to be in combat at some point, but I've even used it on a bloodthirster to great effect. Was the bloodthirster buffed by Be'Lakor? Sure but who's counting?

Just be careful to bring Fatey if you're going to use it on a big unit. Nothing worse than watching your deathstar evaporate because of a bad grim roll. That's why I particularly like using it on the plague drones and/or the screamers, because they can use cover saves to mitigate damage from a turn of a bad grim (provided they're not in combat of course)

Ordo Malleus Inquisitor with terminator armour, deamon hammer, deamonblade, and psyker level for force and hammerhand. Give emperyean brain mines and you have a good chance against most deamons.

Sure, if you say so. REALLY not the topic though.

I have a herald in a unit (i.e meat shield) hold it, usually screamers to get around. I'd rather get my FMC's greater rewards for themselves than have them carry a GoTN.

Technically the Inquisition also do have an item by the same name, but yeah pretty safe to assumed that he's talking about Daemons

The Inquisition's Grimoire of True Names can really mess up Demon MC's though... Take that Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and stick him in a Grey Knight Terminator Squad. The Inquisitor issues a challenge, and now the Demon has -5 Initiative, Weapon Skill and Ld meaning the Grey Knights hit on 4's instead of 5's against Demon Princes/Bloodthirsters/KoS and most importantly swing first (barring a Keeper of Secrets/Skarbrand which would go at I5 or a Bloodthirster which will go at the same time) with those Hammerhanded Force weapons. Even against Herald's hiding in a unit its still pretty great - issue a challenge to drop its Initiative by 5 and have good chance of the Brain Mines stopping it from attacking at all against the squishy Inquisitor.

With the new FAQ you would be unlikely to have Hammer hand and force... But that would definitely tear through most daemons
