I like your other list more. 3 extremely durable soul grinders are more of a threat IMHO than Be'lakor and a few extra warp charges on your herald.
Don't get me wrong -- Be'lakor is a good force multiplier, but he's fairly weak personally.
That T5, 2+ cover, 4 wound model sounds great, but in today's meta it can be dropped painfully easily. I played Be'lakor many times with my Tetrad, and he was always the first daemon prince to die. Being only T5, he's very susceptible to small arms fire. Scat bikes can be a big problem. Sure, you could keep him swooping and shrieking, but then you are paying a premium for that one shriek a turn and wasting his assault abilities.
His assault abilities are fairly lackluster compared to other princes you can build. He has 5 attacks that hit on a 3+ and wound on a 2+. Against a riptide, it will demolish the unit, but against anything fearless it's a lot less effective. Those 5 attacks will hit 2/3 of the time and wound 5/6 of the time for a total of 10/18. To get an accurate assessment of his damage output we would need to use binomial distribution, which gives these chances
0 killed : 2%
1 killed : ~11%
2 killed : ~27%
3 killed : ~34%
4 killed : ~21%
5 killed : ~5%
You could also take a shortcut and estimate that 50/18 will be killed per turn or 2.77 per round of assault. This means to kill 5 marines he will need 2 rounds of assault. For a 350 point model, that's underwhelming. A cheaper Khrone prince with the blade of blood and axe of khorne can deliver 50% more damage! (+1 attack specialist weapon, +d3 Rampage, ID'ing on 6s)
In summary, Be'lakor is good as a force multiplier. Using him to shroud specific units is great. Alone though, he is overcosted.
