Nurgle Predator Driver with an Infestation

So I'm trying to get my CSM back on the table, and I do realize they aren't in the best spot right now, but I love them and they have to come out of storage. This will mostly be for NOVA missions, my plan is to make a relatively tanky list which will be hard to dislodge from objectives. The combination of ObSec and Daemonic Corruption makes objective taking pretty easy. Any useful feedback is appreciated.
I tried this with mixed results, depending on opponents. I had a single Maulerfiend in originally instead of the Heldrake, but a single Maulerfiend just isn't that useful I have found. I'm hoping the cuts to get the Heldrake in will be worth it.

Did you find the deamon allies useful for holding objectives? I play R&H but I might ally them with something else. In my core army, I have 60 zombies + enough artillery units to hold all objectives in my half of the table but can't reach the other side. Would nurgle daemons be really worth it?
As for your list, I would say it is weak (IMO, no offense). This list has no combo, not enough shooting, though it still feel truly balanced (MSU, Obj Sec, cc potential, some anti-tank). But against a shooty army, you will have a rough time. But hey, playing R&H, I'm always baffled at the low model count other armies can have in 1850 games. You could try to add zombies (let go the Disciple units).
-- I know you want to play CSM but the less you have CSM and the more you have R&H artillery, the better the list will be.
-- Maybe the Tallyband is too much an investment for units that will have as sole purpose holding objectives (and give easy kill points). I've never tried it, so I can't tell. But 1 herald and 4x3 nurglings seem enough to me.
-- Have you considered Renegade spawn instead of CSMs? Only 3 per unit and only T5, but still : 55pts for 3!

That's a fair assessment I think. It isn't very killy, it's a balanced MSU list at the end of the day, but without the cool tricks of other army decurions. I have discovered it is not very fun to play. The only exciting part is sending the Lord and Spawn flying at stuff.
I would take lots of zombies, but that can only be done if you take R&H (need to make the Arch-Demagogue warlord and give him Covenant of Nurgle). If I do that then I can't take Plague Marines as troops, which are my favorite unit. Tough choices.
The Tallyband is also a large investment, for not a huge return. If I took them in a CAD they'd have ObSec which is arguably better in most cases. And I wouldn't need as many.
As for your question, the Nurgle Daemons are really good at holding objectives. They are slow as feth, but with Deep Strike you can usually land where you want to be if you take a few units. They're pretty annoying to shoot down without Ignores Cover, and against basic infantry even Nurglings can last a good while. If I were you though, I'd look at some other way to grab objectives, like adding in a KDK Gorepack to get some speedy units, or even some Deep Striking Renegade Veterans. Sounds like you have enough slow gak.

You can play the plague marines in a Purge detachment where the only requirements are 1 Hq + 2 Elite choices. That way, you have it all! Not Obj. sec. though, but the zombies will be.
Thank you for the feedback concerning the daemons! They interested me because of the new relic, the Bell on a herald, which is a -1Ld on all enemy units on the table. It's huge! I have a lot of pinning at -1Ld, so the test would be at -2Ld! So strong! I'll think about it. I might use for objective holders Renegades spawns (basically similar to the Hounds in purpose), using the lovely Plague toad model

The bell is real good, I take it on a herald with my Infernal Tetrad list to help with psychic shriek among other things. Sounds like it would stack nicely with your artillery. It's probably worth it then to take a Herald with the bell and hide him in a unit of Plaguebearers.
I was thinking of The Purge, but I'm not sure it's worth the loss of ObSec and Fast Attack slots. If I get enough Cultist + Zombie models I will try it though. Thanks again for your feedback.

Do not see what is the fuss about it is a list that can hold objectives and that will live in a game.
It is not as killy but still he has 6 melta shots in rhinos which can pop some tanks also I'd put melta bombs on the champs since they are fearless and if charged by something big and nasty you can melta bomb it yes Poison is great but Knights are a thing.
I dislike nurglings I prefer plague bearers with minimum nurglings they still can survive. The lord with the spawns is quite strong I'd still just give him the black mace since I find it more apealing and remove the deamon heart and the pf and lc.
I'd still consider 2 heldrakes yes I can see your renegades will do some dmg but if you have heldrakes you will get some more reach and some more options.
These are my 2 cents still it is a list that will trauble a lot of armies the nurglings are kind of bad in my opinion I'd take more units of plague bearers but other than that I do not understand why people are crying.
