With the new battletome for Bonesplitterz on pre-order right now on the New Zealand GW site, they've released some of the revamped Savage Orruk warscrolls according to what we've seen in the General's Handbook leaks. What do you guys think? I find it interesting that Savage Orruks seem to be effectively the Orcy version of Flagellants in Devoted of Sigmar armies in terms of being the army caught up in religious fervour of the WAAAGH! rather than what they used to be where they were Orcs that followed the "Old ways are best" and were backwards by not embracing forging weapons and armour. I think the biggest change to note is how they've beefed up all the units (including the battleline units) with an extra wound. This seems to set a precedent where Orruks may start having 2W base eventually if they ever get back to updating normal orruks. They also kind of need it now that they lost the 6+ warpaint ward save they used to have. I also really like the change they did to Big Stabbas, having them as a fanatic-esque unit where they just charge into big monsters and even do damage after death.

For now I'll have to wait and see what the rest of the bonuses are for a Bonesplitterz aligned army and their artefacts but they're shaping up to be a lot more interesting as an army than before. Having already jumped on the Ironjawz battlewagon my wallet is going to cry a river if they go any further.

I just want to see the savage orruks deff ride archaon, nagash, allariele, and Gordrakk to death. That seems like it will be a hilarious rule. Besides that I am fairly excited to see the Savage orks being reboxed and repurposed into a new faction. I imagine the new book will be just as good as the sylvaneth battletome and it will make for a good read. These new amped up battletomes along with the reintroduction of points has gotten me excited for AOS again.

Pretty fun by the looks of things.
2 wounds a piece, lots of rules around getting close to monsters, and a guaranteed save of 6 with a MW abater.

This is an army that's meant to run forward and just soak up damage. Proper orruky...
