Mauser Earth takes place in a Diesel-punk uchronic universe.
The location, France in the year 1938 where WWI is still ongoing, but where the rules of war have changed!
There are no longer men who walks battlefields, but robots and hybrids. But the most brutal battle of this war take place in the bloody streets of Paris.
The Railroad World Company has taken control of every corner of the country, and Paris has become the very nerve center of the company. Strong leaders are fighting for Paris as it is a highly important strategic point in the war. The conflict escalates to a point of no return. A horrific toxic gas that now unfortunately covers the whole of France.
To be able to survive, cities have developed sophisticated "domes" to make cover from the gas, and Paris is no exception! As a result of these “domes”, the city of Paris has been separated into different independent districts.

Mauser Earth is a 1:35 (50mm) miniatures game in a dieselpunk universe.
All the miniatures will have their own character cards. They have been sculpted by some of the best sculptor! (JAG, Allan Carasco, Patrick Masson, Stephane N'Guyen, Stephane Camosseto, Arnaud Bellier...).

This campaign will allow us to produce all the content of the starters (box, mini rulebook, characters cards and resin cast). It will also allow us to produce few new miniatures to have a complete starter for the Pacific Empire!

Each starter contain 3 or 4 miniatures and their plastic bases, their characters cards and a mini rulebook.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
despite the skirmish game aspect I see this more as something for painter/collectors as 1:35 is just too large for gaming

but the mauser earth range is really nice and if you want a giant robot to play with some of it is more generally useful

Those are the same people that did SMOG, right?

Anyway, the hundmensch are adorable. Might pick them up when they hit retail.

I'm torn on this one, I love Mauser Earth and would like to back the KS but I already own at least one of the figures from each starter.

I will probably back for the Pacific Empire starter, at 45 Euro it's great value and I can always sell my duplicate Kobayashi on ebay.

I really hope that the project funds, the figures are amazing but I always thought they would have sold better with a skirmish game attached.

Both SMOG and Mauser Earth used to be produced and owned by SmartMax (not 100% sure if they originated there first)

when they closed down the Mauser Earth range went to Wonderland Projects (and SMOG I think went to CMON at least in part)

Okay, so I'm in for 97 Euros; Pacific set, PanzerJunker Ubot & Newark.

Will probably be in for more before the end, fingers crossed for all of the stretch goals getting unlocked!

I love the Smog line, and jumped on the sale last year when SmartMax went under.

I wish them well, just not sure this is going to be for me. I have not read their rules portion, but if it's like smog, you will not need terrain. The printable map is likely to be a game board of sorts.

And, undead, let me know if you want to move those extra models.

REALLY loving the look of this one!

Especially the Alliance stuff...

I think 35mm will be just fine for gaming too, especially with the 'skirmish scale' here.

By the way, what the heck does this mean:

Not 35mm Alph, 1:35/50mm.

Yikes!

Big miss there on my part - thank you for the correction!

Revised opinion - yes, too big for gaming!

I don't know, the 50mm scale is only slightly shorter than the 54mm scale used for GW's Inquisitor skirnish game, and that worked. I think "uchronic" means the same as "ahistorical", involving a (possibly fanciful) alternative timeline.

I don't think GW's Inquisitor game really 'worked' though - I mean, I would have loved if it did, but when you break away from 28mm - 35mm scale, and 'force' a whole new size and terrain scale on people, well...

I do hope it all does well here though!

I like the idea of larger scale games but it does mean you'd need more terrain that also might end up being quite large, might still back though.

Sure, I'll give you a heads up if I do.

Alpharius wrote: Revised opinion - yes, too big for gaming!

Well, as Drazz mentioned earlier if it's anything like Smog you won't need scenery; the game map will be enough.

Also, you've seen the figures; aren't they great?

After painting mainly 30mm scale stuff it felt really refreshing when I moved to a larger scale.

C'mon Alph, break the 28mm shackles that bind you

Oh, I am strongly considering it!

The miniatures (!) look so good...

Neat figures, but the scale is too far off. Sorry! I need figures that fit in with my collection in the very likely event that I never play the new miniatures game. The 28mm shackles are pretty strong.

1/35 isn't that far off from 1/32, which is what we played with/ grew up/ have been around for pretty much all over lives. That's our dad's favorite scale. That's plastic army men in a bag at the grocery store scale pretty much.

There is quite a lot of scenery out there at that scale. Probably in plastic too, if you don't mind more toy- like quality.

[has a flashback to all the old Britain's stuff we had growing up..,.spaceships, knights, commandos, civil war guys, indians... and zoo animals]

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Note also that there is a HUGE amount of model soldiers and even some civilians in 1/35, mostly intended as part of military model displays and dioramas.

For affordable buildings, check out BMC toy soldiers. Most toy soldier stuff is Polyethylene and will have to be primed with Krylon Fusion or other plastic-specific paint.

Update 2
The Skill Tree

Today, let's talk about the Skill Tree, because this is what will do all the difference in game.
This Skill tree is not really an experience systeme but you must see as the capacity for a character to adapt itself to the battlefield.
New skills or secondary weapons (hand guns, grenades...), you'll need to adapt to face your opponent!

The more the level is high, the more the skill is powerful, but sometimes, a level 2 skill will be more useful than a level 3 skill!

To use the Skill Tree, you will need to burry some adrenaline points (a character earn 1 adrenaline point each time he make an action).
To move on a new skill, you may be on an adjacent skill and pay a number of adrenaline points equal to the level of the new skil.
Using your Skill Tree is not an action.

Thanks for pointing out the fresh KS Necros, I was supposed to be sent a reminder when it started but it didn't happen for some reason.

Lets see if they can hit their funding goal this time.
