Is there a way to format a table in a forum post here?

Maybe I am just an idiot, but I've tried three different code styles to produce table formatting in a post here and every time I hit preview to check, it doesn't work? Is it just impossible or am I making a mistake somewhere?

oops looks like tables were removed. Using

allows preformatting at least.
