I get it. Player forking out cash to attend event, travel, housing, overhead with models painting and storage. Time off work and effort. Etc.

But hes showing up on his own agenda knowing hes gonna cheat cause its easy. Hand scribbled list/no list. Models are this one game something else the next. Lvl 2 psyker I thought he was lvl1. I know I know hundreds of lists. But the players are buying a service. Assuming clean fun. Regulated competition. Part of the fee. But, cheating...

The GTs are pretty good at uniforning missions and scoring. But what about cheating? Whats to equivalent of steriod use in boxing at Grand Level play?

Penalties? Bans? Critiria? Ignorance seems to be an acceptable excuse.

Pretty sure prize pack sponsors arent pleased with the prizes or money going to guys whose plan is to cheat with their lists.

I have smooth talking hasslers trying to take my money almost everyday in the city. They all have good reasons. When are the expectations of what happens to cheaters gonna get ironed out. Cheating is stealing, prizes and the honour of ones opponents as well as the credibility of the event.

Certainly the smartest people in the room can come up with something.

I feel the same way, that's why I will only go to local and GW tourneys(when they come back again), the independent tourneys are rule by each TO, and so far they don't have a penalty system for cheating/ignorance, I won't give my money to them.

It should be 'zero-tolerance' with the right to appeal, and if there is money involved, 'no refunds', too.
But that's unlikely to happen.

If a competitor does not know the rules well enough (FAQs, too), and not have a confirmed list, there's no real excuse, apart from analogue disputes (LoS or measuring, etc).

Cheaters get given a set of dice loaded to roll ones (and 3 'Leadership/characteristic dice' that are loaded to roll sixes) to complete the tournament.

That way they still get to have fun playing, even if the dice are against them!
