Couldn't find anything in the Taros book, so I was wondering if anyone knew where the rules to use these in game are? I recently got one second hand and really want to give it a go.

They're in the back of the Taros book (they weren't in the campaign fluff-wise, but FW stuck a few units at the end to update their rules). If you don't have them then you have the obsolete version of the book, not the second edition.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

They are not worth taking, overpriced now(use to be not open top) open top piranha with other TL weapon options instead of drones. No thanks! Feel free to use them as a command piranha for the squadron.

How the heck are they Open-Topped now? They're supposed to be a heavy assault vehicle with more armor and heavier armament. Did they give a reason for the change?

This line of reasoning broke 7th edition in Fantasy. The books should be as equal as possible, even a theoretical "Codex: Squirrels with Crustacean allies" should have a fair chance to beat "Codex: God".

Do they LOOK heavy to you? they are about as well armored as a marine land speeder.

Anyway, they have the base cost of 1.75 regular piranhas, and in return all they get is +1 to side armor, and replacing the burst cannon and both drones for a single twin-linked fusion blaster.

The fusion can be replaced with twin missile for free, twin plasma for 10 or twin rail rifles for 20.

No matter how you look at it, FAR too expensive. a crisis suit with twin fusion/missile/plasma costs merely 42 points and can deep strike. (and for 52 points you can have dual rather than twin)

Even regular piranhas, a team of 3 with fusion costs 150 and gets 6 drones, while two of the TX42 costs nearly the same, and only have two twin-linked shots, who are not mathematically better than three regular shots.

No point to field these, ever.
To add insult to injury, they cost nearly double in real money as well, and do not look all that spectacular for it.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.
