Hi DakkaDakka,

I started a new Tyranid army a little while back and they really lend themselves to all manner of bug conversions. I wanted to share some of them as they grow and the collection grows with it.

This will be pic heavy but starting with a project I found with a simple internet search I have made a good start with a plastic Heirophant Biotitan. First let me send a massive shout-out to DAMO.R over on Librarium Online (http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/tyranids/219950-damo-rs-tyranid-conversion-thread-pics-2.html). Check it out, DAMO is a genius.

Anyway onto mine.

I built it much the same as the instructions, but making it mine... I lengthened the tail by adding some 3mm wire and green stuff to bulk it out, the weapon arms are magnetised (to mostly help with transport). I also made the decision to base mine up, it is on the 160mm base that Games Workshop make. This is the same size as the Supremacy suit base so should be equivalent. For me that base makes this model more playable, as moving/charging with it or against it is now much more easily defined, and the base also gave me the option of added a good bit of detail.

Ther are only a few pics so far, but more to come...

Thanks and hope you guys can stay with me as the conversions (probably) get more and more ridiculous...

First time up against an Imperial Knight (good pic for scale).

The HBT only had 4 wounds left when it was charged and the Knight was unhurt, pesky grav weapons... but even so still managed to take each other out but lost the game 5-4 with both warlords in CC with each other at the end of the game.

Close ups of the Biotitan base

Using a scrap Chimera I had lying around and some Hormogaunts that I don't plan on using in my list

Hi, and welcome

The Tank will be painted up using my Guard Armoured Regiment Colours (Khorne Red and Black), and I have started on a colour scheme. Painted up the head, my painting is not great so wanted something simple

Wow! Incredible work so far! I love the scenic base. I also think your chosen paint scheme looks really cool.

Can't wait to see this monster-gribbly painted up!

Been away a while, happens with a baby on the way. Haven't forgot my hobby project though. My new 'Nid army is going to include a few plastic conversions of FW resin.

Here is my Malonthrope, built mostly using the Hive Tyrant kit. All painted up and ready to play
