Getting back into 40k after 10+ year hiatus. I will be playing mainly against Tau with my brother in law and then plan on moving to my local gaming store to play. We decided on 750 points to start and I would appreciate any constructive feedback. Numbers are based off current ed. Eldar codex.
My plan is to have my Dire Avengers secure objectives while the Farseer buffs the Wraithlord to provide cover fire. The Fire Dragons in the Wave Serpent will take care of any armor heavy Tau on the table. The Warp Spiders will deep strike and harass.

HQ
Farseer– 100

Troops
5 Dire Avengers – 65
5 Dire Avengers – 65

Elites
5 Fire Dragons including Exarch – 120
Wave Serpent (dedicated transport) with Holo-fields and Underslung Shuriken Cannon – 135

Fast Attack
5 Warp Spiders including exarch (TL death spinners) – 110

Heavy Support
Wraithlord (BL and SL) – 155

Total: 750

Have Now, not on list:
Striking Scorpion’s

Personally I would not deep strike the spiders as they are fast enough to not need it.

Quoted for truth. You are better off unit the Wave Serpent as mobile cover as they advance.

Since exarchs hit on 2+ the TL gun is wasted points, IMHO. A singing spear in the farseer's hand is perhaps better.

Those *other* 5 points though ....

If you already have these models and you are looking to have nice friendly games then this list is fine, as is your battle plan.

However, if you are looking for more cheese in your list then perhaps swapping out the Wraithlord and your two Avenger units in order to have some units of Jetbikes (all upgraded with Scatter Lasers and to also give the Farseer a Skyrunner). But even if you want to be cheesy, I would not recommend having a Wraithknight.

But as it is, the list you have will still do well and hope you have fun.

Thanks for the great feedback everyone! I have some additional questions:

Galef - Are you saying move the Wave Serpent up slowly to provide cover for the DA's? My plan was to move it up quickly to use the Fire Dragons to tackle high armor value targets.

Brothererkose- I thought about adding a singing spear to my farseer. However I didnt think he would get close enough to use in combat. Do you think I should lose the exarchs on the spiders and the dragons?

Farseer of Angau - I like your style. I have read up a lot on tactics and hope not to bring the cheese until I become a little more competitive. I know Eldar get a lot of flak for being cheesy, so I wanted to get back into it with a well rounded army. I have reviewed a lot of army lists online and it seems lots of Eldar players are into the scatterspam. If I was to switch out for Jetbikes do you think I could still run with this list?

You absolutely keep the spider exarch. Re-read Iron Resolve in the spider listing. It is wonderful.

The fire D ex? It is debatable.

As for scat bikes and cheesiness? For tourneys, the term 'cheese' does not exist. If you trounce your garage game buddies, then adjust balance for more fun and balance.

No, I'm suggesting NOT to Deep Strike your Spiders, but to use the Serpent as mobile cover for them. Both the Serpent and the Spiders want to get close, so use them in tandem.
